Installing the KazStamp 9 toolbar into Outlook 2000, XP or 2003:

These instructions explain how to install a toolbar and macros in Microsoft Outlook 2000, Outlook XP or Outlook 2003 that allow you to "send" a contact to KazStamp. KazStamp already has the ability to "get" one or more contacts from Microsoft Outlook 2000, Outlook XP or Outlook 2003 by using the

    File > Import Outlook Contacts

command on the KazStamp toolbar. Only follow the instructions below if you want to "send" a contact from Outlook 2000, Outlook XP or Outlook 2003 to KazStamp. In addition, you should be comfortable working with Microsoft Office macros before proceeding.

Please note that Microsoft Office 2007 dramatically changed the user interface by combining menus and toolbars into what they call the "Ribbon".  As a result, the current version of KazStamp is not compatible with Office 2007.

By default, Outlook macro security is set to "high" which may prevent the KazStamp macro from working properly. For more information, along with instructions to set the security to "medium", see Microsoft article 295955.

These instructions assume that you have KazStamp 8.5c or KazStamp 9.0 installed. These instructions also assume that KazStamp was installed in the default folder:

    c:\program files\kazstamp

If you installed to a different folder, substitute that folder name in the instructions below.

  1. Open Outlook 2000, Outlook XP or Outlook 2003 and open the Visual Basic Editor:

  2. In the Visual Basic window, begin importing a file:

and select file KazStampForm from the KazStamp folder:

    Press the Open button.
  3. In the Visual Basic window, begin importing a file:

and select file KazStampForOutlook from the KazStamp folder:

    Press the Open button.
  4. In the Visual Basic Editor, save the Outlook macro file:

  5. Close the Visual Basic Editor.

  6. Open a command window using the

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

path from the Windows Start menu.  In the command window that opens, type the following command:

        "c:\program files\kazstamp\kazstamp.exe" /regserver

and press Enter.  The KazStamp welcome screen will appear briefly and then close.  This step registers KazStamp for use by other programs such as Outlook.

  7. You are now ready to use the macros (Load Envelope, Print Envelope, Close KazStamp, and About KazStamp) from Outlook. You can access them using the

        Tools > Macro > Macros...

menu path or by adding the commands to an Outlook toolbar.
